Our Fifth Anniversary with John L. Scott Real Estate: Gibson Group’s Perfect Partner
Just as home buyers and sellers have a lot of options when choosing a real estate agency, agents have choices when deciding how to structure their business. From operating as an independent firm to being aligned with any of the larger national or regional operations, the decision all boils down to the type of service an agent wants to provide for customers.
For us, becoming an independent broker associate within John L. Scott was the perfect choice. Sure, the organization provides us with an extensive marketing network, robust referral opportunities, a large listing inventory, and access to the latest market research, trends, and industry education, but the company culture of “Transactional Excellence” and their commitment to giving back to the community are key principles that makes them the right fit for us.
Founded in 1931 by a young Scottish immigrant, John L. Scott Real Estate grew from its first office in Seattle to become one of the largest regional firms in the nation. Under the direction of Mr. Scott’s grandson, J. Lennox Scott, for more than 40 years, the company has over 100 offices and 3,000 agents. All signs indicate a fourth generation will enter the business; the current Mr. Scott’s youngest daughter, Savannah.
Perhaps it’s this family-business ideal that makes the company so community minded, but the motto “Living LIfe as a Contribution” is so much more than just a tagline. The John L. Scott Foundation, established 20 years ago, raises funds for organizations committed to children’s healthcare, and is supported by contributions and volunteer efforts of its agents and employees.
Being strongly aligned with both the business principle of excellent customer service and the community-minded nature of the John L. Scott organization, we found the perfect partners for Gibson Group. This summer we marked 5 years of affiliation with this fantastic organization, and look forward to many more to come.
